Lunch at Scratch Farm Kitchen

Lunch at Scratch Farm Kitchen

Hi! It’s been a hot second since I did a write up on a local spot.

Yesterday, Petey and I voted early and decided to treat ourselves to lunch downtown. I’ve been wanting to try Scratch Farm Kitchen for a while, so that’s what we did!

It’s a super cute old house turned restaurant with counter service. Tables are set up throughout, but there is a ton of bar seating. We ordered and took a seat at the bar.

The kitchen is open so you can watch them prepare all of the meals. Super cool, but if you’re starving this may not be the seat for you haha.

They use a ton of locally sourced products, which I love! Funny story, I was taking a yoga class a few months ago and overheard one of the owners talking about how they were sourcing products . She mentioned they were testing out grits, so nosey me butted in and recommended Delta Grind (a company out of MS). They ordered samples- and apparently loved them because that’s the grits they are using! I’ve made these grits at home and OMG you need to check them out too!

Anyways… back to what we ordered!

Petey went with the burger and a side of hash potatoes with beet ketchup. The burger comes on a bun from Great Harvest, but you can also swap it for TX Toast from Pouparts. It was delicious and so fresh.

I went with the burrito and chose pulled pork for my protein. It comes with a small salad that was dressed with a vinegarette . The burrito was MASSIVE, but I ate the entire thing. It was stuffed with pork, squash, zucchini, and the most delicious yellow rice. I usually don’t care for rice in a burrito, but holy cow this stuff was crazy good. Oh, there was also some sauce that had a sweet note to it on the side and I loved it as well.

Other things on the menu that I wanted to order: cucumber kimchi, roasted beets, and this grit dish with marinara. I will be back and maybe next time for breakfast!

I hope you enjoyed our thoughts on a new local restaurant. Have you tried it yet? Let me know if so!
